We are part of the Purchase to Pay team and are currently seeking a new, experienced colleague in the field of supplier quality management.
Key Responsibilities of the Supplier Quality Engineer:
- Implement and conduct digital quality control for delivered goods and services based on business and product risks.
- Initiate the complaint management process for identified non-conformances and support root cause analysis and preventive measures in collaboration with suppliers and internal teams (create SAP Q-Notifications, 8D-Reports, cost transparency/negotiation via SAP Debit-notes with support from SQEs, buyers, and CCB members).
- Escalate quality inspection requirements at supplier sites or warehouse incoming inspections based on information exchange with cross-functional teams.
- Provide technical support for materials or products and develop testing specifications with cross-functional teams.
- Assess and report on supplier performance and support the definition of effective measures in line with the 8D-philosophy.
- Contribute to the improvement of supplier check/test strategies for incoming goods.
- Ensure the replacement of deliveries, handle defective parts at warehouses and headquarters in collaboration with suppliers, logistics, and buyers to ensure quick defect analysis and delivery capability.
- Participate in internal quality meetings and meetings with suppliers representing the company.
Requirements for the Supplier Quality Engineer:
- Strong knowledge and proven experience in Quality Management.
- Experience with quality control in manufacturing or distribution centre environments.
- Familiarity with inspection processes, SPC, sampling, documentation & reporting, and quality metrics.
- Knowledge of complaint management, root cause analysis processes, and continuous improvement.
- Experience with supplier audits and supplier development.
- Preferably a technical background (mechanical/electrical engineering).
- Exceptional soft skills - professional communication, ability to handle complex issues remotely, pragmatic problem-solving, drive, and engagement.
- Proficiency in German and English (communication with German factories, distribution centres, and suppliers worldwide).
