Join a leading manufacturing company in the Czech Republic. With a production plant that has been operating for 17 years, this company is known for its innovative approach and commitment to quality. The purchasing department, originally based in the plant, was moved to the Switzerland HQ in 2013 but is now being reinitiated to be closer to the production site. The company was acquired by a larger player in 2021 and has been fully owned by a family since July 2024. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing organisation.
Your new role
As a Senior Buyer - Site Purchasing, you will play a crucial role in the selection and management of suppliers for strategic packaging materials.

- Strategic selection, negotiation, and management of key regional suppliers.
- Collaborating and negotiating with direct suppliers on prices and deliveries of raw materials and packaging.
- Ensuring price stability during the validity of contracts.
- Analysing strategic price trends for critical packaging materials.
- Presenting data on strategic purchases, including price variance analysis.
- Collaborating with the strategic development department in the development of new products and pricing.
- Maintaining and fulfilling basic supplier KPIs on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Managing the supplier database, including lists of raw materials and packaging, costs, delivery terms, lead times, MOQ, payment terms, and contacts.
- Collaborating with key departments within the company (Supply Chain, Quality, Development, Production).
- Supporting ESG initiatives, particularly in the areas of safety, environment, and quality.
What you'll need to succeed
- Over 2 years of practical experience in purchasing within the FMCG environment.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
- Ability to independently collect and analyse data, formulate high-level strategy, prepare RFQ documents, and evaluate competitive offers.
- Ability to conduct personal meetings and negotiations with suppliers regarding prices, services, and deliveries.
- Experience with SAP & BW reporting is an advantage.
- A university degree is an advantage but not a requirement.
- Experience in purchasing packaging materials in FMCG is an advantage.
